Apportioned Trailer plates presumably began with 1986 expirations along with Apportioned Truck plates.
The first iteration of these had a “TRLR APPORTIONED” caption on the top with numbering in the 1234-“AT” series. When the map base came out, the numbering format stayed the same, but the caption was shortened to only “APPORTIONED”. This type was discontinued before too long because the original reason for their issue was no longer in effect. Not many plates were issued, but some numbers were carried over to the reflective blue base in 2000.
